Barriers is designed to protect your privacy and the privacy of your students completely. In short: the app collects no personal data, and nothing you create ever leaves your device.
Nothing. Barriers does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. The app contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs.
All content you create in Barriers — lesson plans, timings, engagement ratings, reflections, and AI-generated insights — is stored locally on your device. It is never uploaded to us or to any third party.
Barriers uses Apple Intelligence (on-device Foundation Models) to analyse your lessons and suggest strategies. This processing happens entirely on your device. Your lesson content is never sent to a server, to us, or to any external AI service to power these features.
If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, your Barriers data may be included in your personal device backup. This is a system feature provided and controlled by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy, and it is entirely your choice. Barriers has no access to your backups.
Barriers is a tool for teachers. It does not collect data from anyone, including children. Any student information a teacher chooses to record (such as first names or engagement notes) stays only on that teacher's device and is never transmitted.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above.
